Providential conversation?

Well, last night, we went to see the Martins in concert at First Baptist Church of Wentzville, MO.  They really put on a great concert.  ...but they always do.

On the way home, my wife and I discussed “prayer”.  We discussed what we thought its purpose was and was not.  Specifically, we acknowledged that it was not correct to think that praying to God would “change God's mind” or that we'd give Him some revelation or new idea.  I mean, do we (collectively) think that we could come up with something where God said “Oh yeah, good idea.  I hadn't thought of that...”?

Then, this morning, I get to work (Quilogy) and I'm called down to a manager's office to discuss a project.  He preempts the project discussion by stating that he'd heard that I “attended church regularly”.  True enough, I guess, but that's kind of a scary way to start any conversation.  In any case, he starts to ask about my opinion of a discussion his club had the other night.  He references the Simpson's episode where Bart drops to his knees and prays for a snow day so he can study - and gets it.  I could see where this was going.

We begin discussing this exact same concept that I had discussed the night before.  God set that up - no question about it.  My manager and I have never had “religious” discussions before.  Only by divine guidance did those two conversations happen in sequence.  Very cool.
